JBrennon completed its first municipal project with the City of Chattanooga, demonstrating our capabilities in Chattanooga, concrete repairs and construction. At Fire Station 10, the scope included demolition of existing slabs and steel, removal of curbs and sidewalks, undercutting, and installation of a compacted stone subgrade. We built a new epoxy-coated, reinforced monolithic concrete driveway with drilled, doweled, epoxied, and greased alignment dowels, followed by thorough joint cleaning, sealing, and caulking.
Before mobilizing, JBrennon proposed increasing rebar size and concrete PSI to accommodate shallower expansion joints—an upgrade approved by the City to better support fire truck loads. Despite weather delays, including an unexpected ice storm, our team maintained curing temperatures for five days to meet required specs. The project finished a month ahead of schedule, exceeding City expectations.
